Out of Control Red Sox Fan Arrested

Last night around 8:03PM, officers performing the detail at the Red Sox/Los Angeles Angels were responded to Gate E, Jordan Deck for a disturbance.

On arrival, officers observed Fenway Security attempting to restrain an individual. Officers spoke to Security who reported to them that the suspect had been kicked out of a game a few months ago for pulling down his pants down during a game and that the same suspect was creating a disturbance in the park and had used racial epithets to refer to an African American security guard at the park.  Officers further learned that the suspect had drawn Security’s attention because he started berating and verbally abusing a female fan after she refused to sit at a table with him at his urging. Security, when they approached the suspect after recognizing him, asked him about the incident when he had pulled his pants down to confirm their belief. The suspect answered by exclaiming, “What are you going to do about it!?” and refused to produce identification.

The suspect when told he was going to have to leave the park started making references to President Obama and continuously referred to an African American security guard by using racial epithets. The suspect continued to yell, “I don’t care about N….!” The suspect grabbed onto a pole when he was being escorted out of the park and he to be physically escorted out of the park.

The suspect, Eric C. Englehart, 41 of Randolph was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing and Resisting Arrest.
