Witness Assists Officers in Apprehension of Stabbing Suspects

Yesterday evening around 6:13PM, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) arrested suspects, Edwin Vasquez, 17, Wilmer Velasquez, 17, and Cristian A. Horosco, 17, all of East Boston were arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.

Officers initially responded to 333 Sumner St. in East Boston for a person stabbed.  On arrival at the intersection of Sumner and Cottage Streets, officers observed a group of people attending to the victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds but was alert and conscious. Officers spoke to witnesses and the victim and learned that the victim was attacked by the three suspects after he confronted them because they were staring at him. The victim reported that the suspects punched, kicked him and one of them stabbed him.

While on scene, officers were notified that a witness was following the suspects. Officers were able to able with the assistance of the witness to find all three of the suspects hiding behind some plants at the end of Marginal Street by the water.  The suspects were detained and subsequently positively identified by a witness.
