1ST ANNUAL ‘FIELD OF DREAMS’ WIFFLE BALL TOURNEY HITS A HOME RUN FOR JUVENILE DIABETES
OVER $30,000 RAISED TO FUND RESEARCH AND AWARENESS
WHO: Boston Police Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald, Police Officer Leigh Anne Fitzgerald, 11 year-old Caroline Fitzgerald, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Representative Lauren Shields, John Pappas of the Boston Athletic Club
WHAT: On Saturday, June 12, 2010, members of the Boston Police Department gathered for the 1st Annual ‘Field of Dreams’ Wiffle Ball Tournament at the Boston Athletic Club in South Boston. All the proceeds raised during the tourney have been earmarked for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. This year’s tourney raised a little over $30,000. Superintendent Fitzgerald and his daughter, 11 year-old Caroline, who has Juvenile Diabetes, will present a check in the above-mentioned amount to Lauren Shields from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
