Press Conference/Photo Opportunity: New Community Policing Initiative Unveiled

 NEW COMMUNITY POLICING INITIATIVE UNVEILED

What:  Under the leadership of Mayor Menino, the Boston Police Department today will launch an exciting new way to engage with communities and build trust among Boston’s youth.  Today’s press conference and media availability will unveil the BPD’s latest Community Policing tool.

                                     Location Two: Sportsman Tennis Club, 950 Blue Hill Ave.

 Time:                         6:00pm: Press Conference at BPD Headquarters

                                    6:20pm: Police Motorcade from HQ to Sportsman Tennis Club

                                    6:40pm: Photo Opportunity at Sportsman Tennis Club

Logistics:  Commissioner Davis will host a press conference under the arch at Boston Police Headquarters announcing the initiative. Immediately following the speaking program and unveiling of the new Community Policing tool, participants will proceed in a police-escorted motorcade to approx. 100 awaiting local youth at the Sportsman Tennis Club at 950 Blue Hill Avenue. A photo opportunity displaying this latest Community Policing initiative will occur with local youth at the Tennis Club.

 Media Note** The motorcade from BPD HQ to the Sportsman Tennis Club will be slightly delayed to give news crews a head start to pack up and proceed to the Tennis Club.
