Last night around 8:35PM, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of Wayland St. and Howard St. when they observed a car fail to use its directional lights while making a turn.

Officers stopped the car and queried it before approaching the operator. The query revealed that the owner of the car had a suspended license and an extraditable warrant.

Officers then approached the vehicle and asked the operator for his license and he told officers that he did not have his license but provided officers with his name and a date of birth. Officers queried the name given to them by the operator but the physical information that came back from the Registry of Motor Vehicle was very different from the actual operator. Officers confronted the operator with this inconsistency and he admitted to officers his true name which was the name of the person wanted on the outstanding warrant and with a suspended license.   

Officers contacted the agency with the extraditable warrant which confirmed the warrant and agreed to pick up the suspect operator, Mark Mullen, 43 of Quincy. He was then arrested and charged with the Operating after Suspension and Being a Fugitive from Justice based on an outstanding warrant from Connecticut for Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.

Officers then spoke to the other passenger of the car who had no identification but provided officers with a name much like the operator of the car had done. Check of the name given provided to officers via the MDT revealed no such name with the Registry or any other agency.  Another officer arrived on scene and recognized the passenger and provided his true name to officers on scene. Check of the passenger’s name revealed that he also had an outstanding warrant for Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute. That suspect, Eklisandro Teixeira, 22, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant. Once arrested, the suspect was then found to be in possession of eight (8) individually wrapped plastic bags of crack cocaine. The suspect was then charged with Possession of Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class within 1000’ of a School Zone.
