Suspect Arrested for Assaulting Disabled Victim with His Own Cane

Last night around 10:13PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the intersection of Washington and Kenwood Streets for an assault and battery in progress.

On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a 47 year old disable man who uses the assistance of a cane to walk, who reported to officers that he was just was just assaulted by a woman after an argument. The victim went on to tell officers that he and the suspect had an argument over money and she became angry, grabbed his cane and struck him across the leg causing him to fall. The suspect then repeatedly punched the victim and struck him several more times with his cane before walking away. Officers were able to confirm the victim’s story by speaking to witnesses who observed the incident.

The victim provided  officers with a description of the suspect and officers canvassed the area and within a few minutes were able to locate the suspect in front of 571 Washington Street. The suspect, Cassandra Johnson, 46 of Quincy was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
