Boston Police Seeking the Community Assistance to Locate Assault Suspect

\"\"The Boston Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance to locate assault suspect, Michael Castellucci. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the police.

 Incident Description:

About 6:53 on Wednesday July 7, 2010 officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain)  unit responded to 445 Arborway for an attempted unarmed robbery.

On arrival, the officers spoke with the victim who stated that as she was exiting her vehicle at 445 Arborway she observed a black male jogging towards her. The victim stated that when she stepped out of the vehicle this black male described as being 5\’9\”, 20-30 years of age, thin build, wearing a black shirt and black shorts bear hugged her and attempted to take her purse. The victim stated that the suspect yelled at her several times \”GIVE ME YOUR SHIT BITCH\”. The victim then stated that she screamed and the suspect ran off. The victim stated that when she screamed two court officers from the West Roxbury Court House chased the suspect but were unsuccessful in capturing him.

  After further investigation it was discovered that the suspect was Michael Castellucci and that he had escaped from the custody of a mental health worker from Taunton State Hospital and an officer from Taunton State Hospital. The workers from the hospital were transporting the suspect/Castelluccci from Taunton State Hospital to Lemuel Shattuck Hospital for surgery on his arm when he escaped. The health worker stated that the suspect/Castellucci exited his vehicle in the rear of Shattuck Hospital and hopped over a fence onto Morton Street. The health worker further stated that they chased the suspect up Morton Street but were unsuccessful in catching him. The health worker was able to provide the officers with further information pertaining to the suspect such as (DOB, Social Security number, and last known address of the suspect). Boston Police Units responded to a half way house where the suspect last lived but there was no one there matching the description of the suspect/Castellucci. The suspect is a dark skin thin built black male, with a low hair cut, 26 years of age, 5\’9\” tall, weighing 165 pounds, wearing a black shirt, black shorts and a cast on his right arm.

 The officers on E-13 canvassed the area along with units from E-5 and a K9 unit from the MBTA Police, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. The E-13 detectives were notified Detective Cronin responded and the Mass State Police were notified by operations.

The Boston Police District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and trying to locate the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the District E-13 detectives at (617) 343-5628.
