Detail Officers Arrest B&E Suspect

Yesterday afternoon around 1:47PM, two officers were performing a paid detail on Harrison Ave. when they when a passerby told them a man just got robbed on Eustis Street by a suspect wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans.

Officers immediately broadcast this information to other units and as they did so, they observed the suspect fleeing on Shabazz Way. Officers pursued the suspect into the rear of 11 42 Harrison Ave where he ran into someone’s back yard through their back door and exited out the front door. . The suspect was apprehended and detained as he came out the front door of that address and tried walking away nonchalantly.

Officers then located a victim who reported that the suspect stole a GPS from the window of his car and started walking toward Dudley Street. The victim reported that he then approached the suspect, at which point the suspect exclaimed, “Take your [stuff] and don’t let me catch you around here anymore!”  The suspect then raised his arm which had cast on it and threatened to hit the victim with it and then threw the GPS to the ground causing it to smash into smaller pieces.

The suspect, Ruben Delgado, 45 of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace, Breaking and Entering a Motor vehicle, Assault by Means of a Dangerous and Trespassing.
