Passerby Attacked after Overhearing Domestic Argument

At approximately 1:19AM today, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to the area of Forbes and Centre Streets for a person with a knife.

En route, officers were advised that the suspect had fled from the suspect and was now on Day St. heading toward Sunnyside Street. Officers located the victim and spoke to him and he stated that he was walking near Centre and Gayhead Streets when heard yelling coming from a second or third floor of the building at that location. The victim stated that he heard the voice of a female state, “look you got people looking up here.” The victim reported that he next saw a male at the window who exclaimed, “What! You want some of this?!”

The victim reported that before he realized it, the suspect had come outside to confront him brandishing a knife and charged at him. The victim fled from the suspect as the suspect pursued him yelling, “That’s right, you better run!” The suspect then provided officers with a description of the suspect and the last location where he saw him. After the suspect’s description was broadcast, an officer located someone matching the suspect description at the corner of Centre and Forbes Street and detained him pending further investigation.

The victim was brought back to the scene and positively identified the stopped male as the person who had chased him with the knife. The suspect, Isacc Q. Johnson, 22 of Jamaica Plain was arrested and charged with assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
