POLICE CATCH THIEF IN THE ACT OF STEALING G-P-S DEVICE 

At about 6:11pm, on Sunday, June 20, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of Downtown Crossing when they observed a motor vehicle with the driver’s side door open. Officers further noted an individual sitting in the front seat, rummaging through the car and holding various possessions, including a GPS system, in his hands. Upon seeing this, officers approached the individual and asked if he was the owner of the car. To which, the individual stated, “It belongs to my friend.” In short time, the true owner of the car arrived on the scene and when asked if he knew the individual sitting in his car, the owner of the car stated he did not. 

Officers arrested Neil Finn, 43, of Boston and charged him with Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.

RETURNING TO THE SCENE OF THE CRIME LANDS BIKE THIEF BEHIND BARS 

At about 2:00pm, on Friday, June 18, 2010, a victim filed a report stating that his bicycle had been stolen from outside of 15 Westland Ave (the Whole Foods Market). Victim states that he locked his bike to a bike rack around 2:00pm, but when he returned approximately eight hours later, he discovered that his lock had been cut and his bike stolen.   

Two days later, at about 5:25pm, on Sunday, June 20, 2010, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a call to investigate a report of a stolen bike in the area of 15 Westland Ave. On arrival, officers spoke to an individual who stated that his bike had been stolen from the same location two days earlier. However, on this day, he observed a man with his bike. Officers approached the suspect and asked him how he had arrived at the market. In answer to the question, the suspect pointed at a bike and stated, \”That bike right there.\” While talking to the suspect, officers noted that the suspect was in possession of a backpack. Officers asked the suspect if they could see what was in the bag. To which, the suspect stated, “Sure.” Upon looking inside the bag, officers observed a pair of silver pliers. 

Officers arrested Roosevelt Price, 52, of Bostonand charged him with Larceny Over $250.00 and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
