At about 10:53am, on Thursday, June 17, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person who had fallen from a ladder in the area of 160 N. Washington Street. On arrival, officers learned that an individual, while conducting maintenance work on the side of a building, had fallen from the 2nd floor. The victim, a male in his 60’s, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced. The preliminary investigation suggests that this was a tragic accident. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) responded and will be assisting in the investigation.
