Last night (Sunday, May 31, 2010) around 7:51PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the area of 218 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester for a person shot.
On arrival, officers located the victim, Nicholas Fomby-Davis, 14 of Dorchester suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center via ambulance suffering from life threatening injuries. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
An officer from the Youth Violence Strike Force (Gang Unit), who was in the immediate vicinity at the time of the shooting observed the incident, and saw two individuals fleeing from the scene. As a result, the officer immediately called for back-up and began pursuing the suspects on foot. During the course of the foot pursuit, officers caught both of the suspects and recovered a firearm.
Officers arrested Crisostomo Lopes, 20 of Dorchester and charged him with Murder, and a 16- year male juvenile from Dorchester and charged him with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling.
