POLICE ARREST ONE FOR TEARING UP THE PERUVIAN CONSUL

At about 12:23pm, on Friday, May 28, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person creating a disturbance at the Peruvian Consul at 20 Park Plaza. On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that the suspect entered the location and began breaking things. Specifically, witnesses stated that the suspect broke a television, a computer and a glass partition. When asked to explain his actions, the suspect stated, \”I did it so I would be deported to Peru.\” 

Officers spoke with one witness who stated that she was seated in the waiting room when the suspect entered the premise and stated, \”Move away from the window. I have to break it.\” According to the witness, the suspect then proceeded to pick up a metal framed chair and throw it through the glass partition. 

Officers arrested Jaime Prada, 42, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property (Over $250).
