Traffic Advisory – Mother\’s Day

The Boston Transportation Department is advising drivers to use caution in Boston this weekend as two special events are expected to attract a number of pedestrians into the city.

The Duckling Day Parade will begin on the Boston Common near the corner of Beacon and Park Streets.  An anticipated 1,000 participants will gather at 11 AM, and start walking at Noon, from the Boston Common onto Beacon Street, right onto Joy Street, left onto Mt. Vernon Street, left onto Charles Street to the Charles Street South corner entrance to the Boston Public Garden.  The event is expected to end by 3 PM.

 In addition, the 14th Annual Mother\’s Walk for Peace will be held in Dorchester.  An expected 3,000 participants will gather on Townfield Park in Fields Corner and begin walking at 7 AM.  The route they will take is Dorchester Avenue to Ashmont Station, right onto Talbot Avenue to Codman Square, right onto Washington Street, right onto Columbia Road, left onto Geneva Avenue, left onto Park Street and ending at Townfield Park.  The event is expected to end by 11 AM.
