On Friday, April 30, 2010, at approximately 11:50pm, Boston Police Officers, assigned out of Area D-4(South End / Lower Roxbury), responded to the area of 841 Boylston Street, for a report of a person stabbed.
Boston police dispatch received information from a caller that a male was in the general of the 841 block of Boylston Street suffering from what appeared to be an apparent stab wound.
Officers, Boston EMS and Boston Fire arrived on-scene and located a male suffering from, what appeared to be a serious stab wound. Boston EMS and Fire rendered care to the victim on-scene before transporting him to Boston Medical Center for further treatment. The victim later passed due to his stab wounds. He was pronounced at approximately 1:11am.
The Boston Police Department was called to the scene and launched a thorough investigation attempting to learn of the circumstances leading up to the victim being stabbed. The immediate area was secured and potential witnesses were attempted to be located and interviewed.
The victim has been identified as Beau James Young, 22, homeless, currently staying in the Boston area and previously from Maryland.
