“JUST SMOKING SOME WEED”
At about 10:28PM, on Monday, April 26, 2010, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) were on patrol when officers observed a brown motor vehicle parked, with its interior lights on and engine running, in the area of Jerome and Everett Streets. Upon pulling up next to the car, officers looked into the car and observed two individuals smoking what looked to be marijuana. As a result, officers exited their car and approached the motor vehicle to further investigate. Upon looking inside the car, officers observed one of the occupants in the process of rolling a marijuana cigarette. Specifically, officers observed what looked to be marijuana, loosely broken up, in the lap of the aforementioned individual. When officers knocked on the window, one of the occupants rolled down his window. When asked what they were doing, one of the occupants stated, “We are just smoking some weed.” While questioning the occupants, officers observed a silver-colored firearm inside the vehicle. Upon seeing the firearm, officers promptly instructed the occupants to exit the vehicle. With the car vacated, officers took possession of the firearm.
Officers arrested Skinner Markeese, 22, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Loaded Weapon on a Public Way. The operator of the motor vehicle was issued a citation for the Unlawful Possession of a Class D Drug (marijuana).
POLICE ARREST TWO BREAKING INTO A JAMAICA PLAIN SUPERMARKET
At about 9:04pm, on Monday, April 26, 2010, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a commercial alarm at 415 Centre Street (Hi-Lo Supermarket). On arrival, officers looked inside the store and observed two individuals running thru the store. Upon going round to the side of the store, officers observed the same two individuals quickly exiting the building. As officers were following behind the suspects, officers observed the suspects discard stocking caps and gloves. After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend the suspects.
Officers arrested Jargle Soto, 24, of Boston and Francis Otano, 22, of Boston and charged both with Breaking & Entering of a Non-Residence (night time).
