Robbery Suspect Arrested with the Stolen Goods

On Saturday, April 17, 2010 around 9:33PM, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to the area of 98 Gore Street for an assault and battery in progress. While en route, the call was updated to a robbery.

 On arrival, officers learned that the victim had just been robbed by two teenagers one of whom was wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt. Officers broadcast a description of the suspects and a short while time later, an assisting officer observed two young males matching the suspects’ description near the Stonybrook MBTA station. The officer got out of his car to approach the pair and both tried to flee but the officer was able to catch one the suspects. The apprehended suspect was found to be in possession of a computer. A further pat frisk of the suspect revealed him to be in possession an HTC cell phone, an I-Phone, a Sidekick cell phone, a license, and a credit/debit card.

The victim was brought back to the suspect’s location and positively identified him as the suspect who had just robbed her. The victim then told officers that she was walking in the area of 98 Paul Gore St. when she noticed the apprehended suspect walking behind her.  The victim stated that the she began to run and the suspect caught up to her and pushed her to the ground from behind, physically assaulted her and grabbed her bag which was on her shoulder. The victim reported to officers that her bag contained an I-Phone, a Mac laptop, a red wallet, a Bank of America debit card, a credit card, a MA license and a few other items. The victim was able to identify the items that were found on the suspect as the ones that were taken from her.

The suspect, a 15 year-old male from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery, and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (shod foot).
