On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who reported that she was standing on the sidewalk in front of the above location when she was approached by a young girl who handed her the two year old victim. According to the witness, the young girl who turned over custody of the child to her told her that she found the child walking on Puritan Avenue towards the park. The young girl who found the 2 year-old child left the scene prior to police arrival and could not be located.
Officers canvassed the area knocking on doors from Puritan Ave, to Geneva Ave. to Olney Street without any success in finding a parent/guardian for the child. The child was transported to the hospital for an evaluation but a parent/guardian has yet to be located.
The Boston Police Department is asking anyone who may have information about the identity of the child or the parent’s/guardian’s whereabouts to call District C-11at (617) 343-4330 or 911.
