Resale of Red Sox Tickets Lands Suspect in Jail

Yesterday evening around 6:53PM, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) were on patrol at the intersection of Boylston and Ipswich Streets for the Red Sox game when they observed an individual holding a sign reading “I need tickets!”

Officers continued to monitor this individual and a short time later saw him engaged in a conversation with another male. Officers continued to monitor the two individuals and subsequently observed them exchanging cash.  Officers then stopped the two to investigate the exchange of cash. Based on information received from both individuals, officers learned that the first male who had been holding the sign had tickets valued at $47.00 which he was trying to sell to the other male at a price of $100.00.

The suspect, Thomas J. Krawec, 50, of Needham was arrested and charged and charged with Illegal Resale of Tickets, Occupying a Street for Resale of Tickets, and Failure to Register as a hawker and Peddler.
