BOSTON POLICE ARREST SUSPECT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING DEATH AT 28 HILLIS ROAD On Friday, September 25, 2009, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit located and arrested Ruben Sanchez, 19, of Boston on an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with the Murder.
After a thorough and complete investigation, the Boston Police Homicide Unit, working closely with Area E-18 (Hyde Park) detectives, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and members of the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, was able to identify and name the suspect responsible for the shooting. Accordingly, detectives sought and obtained an arrest warrant in the name of the suspect.
Officers arrested Ruben Sanchez, 19, of Boston and charged him with Murder.
On Sunday, September 20, 2009, at approximately 2:31am, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded a radio call for a person shot in the area of 28 Hillis Road in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers located and observed an 18 year-old female suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced as a result of her injuries. The victim has since been identified as Paola Castillo, 18, of Dorchester.
The suspect, Mr. Ruben Sanchez, is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on Monday, September 28, 2009.
