Collarborative efforts between law enforcement agencies nab robbery suspect wanted out of BostonOn Wednesday, August 2, 2009, at approximately 11:36am, Boston police officers assigned to Area D-4 (South End), responded to the area of Shawmut Avenue for a family disturbance.
Officers arrived on-scene and spoke with a female victim who stated she was having a verbal argument with her boyfriend when it escalated into her being physically assaulted. She also stated her boyfriend then stole her money, car & house keys and cellular phone before fleeing the residence. The female victim was able to supply the officers with the suspects name and several locations out of Boston he may be.
BPD officers contacted several local police departments requesting their assistance in locating the suspect.
Shortly thereafter, the Watertown Police Department notified District 4 officers that the male suspect was located and placed under arrest. D-4 officers then traveled to the Watertown Police Department and took custody of the suspect after a courtesy booking was conducted. The victim’s property was located on the suspect at the time of his arrest.
Officers arrested Jianfeng Chen, 47, of Boston on the charges of Unarmed Robbery and Assault & Battery.
Two Face Felony Assault & Battery Charges Over $10 Debt
On Wednesday, September 3, 2009, at approximately 12:02am, Boston police officers assigned out of District B-2 (Roxbury), responded to 107 Brunswick Street for a call of an Assault & Battery in progress.
Officers arrived on-scene and observed a black Male and Female arguing on the street. The two parties were separated and officers attempted to gather information regarding the incident. Officers were forced to detain the male subject for he became irritated and aggressive towards officers.
After several minutes of speaking with both parties, officers learned that the male subject showed up at the female’s residence in order to collect Ten-dollars that she owed him. He became violent towards the female when she informed him that she was unable to re-pay the money. The male subject began punching and kicking the female. The female then retrieved a baseball bat and struck the male with it.
The male subject informed officers that he did travel to the female’s apartment in order to collect the Ten-dollars owed to him. He further stated she then struck him with the baseball bat prior to him punching her in “self defense.”
Officers arrested James Cobb, 53 of Brunswick, North Carolina on the charges of Assault & Battery for Means of Collecting a Debt & Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Shod Foot). Officers will be summonsing Paula Moore, of Dorchester on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Baseball Bat).
