DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2009

POLICE ARREST TWO FOR HOME INVASION IN ROXBURYAt approximately 1:12 pm, on Friday, June 19, 2009, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a home invasion in progress in the area of 133 Calumet Street. On arrival, officers observed a female standing outside the above-mentioned address. When officers approached the female, she stated that there were two black males inside her apartment, assaulting her boyfriend. According to the woman, one of the suspects was in possession of a firearm. Officers quickly surrounded the location. Upon approaching the apartment door, which was slightly open, officers knocked and announced their presence. In short time, an individual, with duct tape around his hands and feet, moved into the doorway and stated, “They just went out the backdoor.” Officers observed and noted that the victim was bleeding from what appeared to be a laceration to his head.
When the suspects ran out the backdoor, officers, positioned in the rear of the location, were able to take both suspects into custody. One of the suspects began punching and resisting the officers. After a violent struggle, officers were able to subdue the suspect.
While officers were taking the suspects into custody, officers observed an undisclosed amount of money in the area once occupied by the suspects. Moreover, a search of the back stairs enabled officers to locate and take possession of a firearm.
Officers arrested David Gratton, 39, of Brockton and Keith Gray, 32, of Boston and charged both with Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Resisting Arrest.
