At approximately 1:18 this afternoon, June 10, 2009, officers responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 71 Pleasant Street in Dorchester (District C11). Upon arrival, officers searched the area for two suspects and located two males in front of 77 Pleasant Street matching the descriptions given to officers. Witnesses positively identified Michael Lopes, 17, of Dorchester as the suspect who had a silver handgun in his front waistband when he ran into the school yard and subsequently ran down Pleasant Street. Witnesses identified the second suspect, Reggie Gomes, 17, of Dorchester as the individual in the company of Michael Lopes when he ran from the school yard. Officers recovered ballistic evidence in front of 153 Stoughton Street, then searched the area for any weapons and a Boston Police canine located a silver revolver underneath the porch of 79 Pleasant Street.Michael Lopes was placed under arrest and will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and a Warrant for Violation of Probation. Reggie Gomes was placed under arrest on a Warrant for Violation of Probation.
