Man “Marking His Territory” Flees From OfficersOn Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at approximately 12:42am, Officers assigned to Area A-15 (Charleston), were traveling in the area of Main Street when they observed a man with his pants down urinating. Officers exited their cruiser and approached the suspect. While doing so, the suspect began walking away from them at a hurried pace. Officers caught up to the suspect and asked him for his name. The suspect refused to give his name and replied, “What’s your name”? He then turned away and ran. Officers gave chase as he fled down Rutherford Avenue. As the officers got close, the suspect abruptly stopped running and spun around towards the officers. The suspect was observed to have clinched fists and stepped towards one of the officers and attempted to strike him. The officer was forced to spray the suspect with his departmental issued Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.Spray) in order to place him into custody.
Officers arrested Paul Shea, 44, of Chelsea on the charges of Indecent Exposure, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Police Officer.
Impatient Driver Strikes Three Detail Officers & Flees Scene
On Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at approximately 11:10am, Officers were working a paid detail at the intersection of Freeport Street & Dorchester Avenue when their attention was drawn to a vehicle with its horn continuously blowing by an impatient driver. Due to heavy vehicle traffic and road construction, traffic was at a stand-still. Officers approached the female driver in order to explain the situation. Once at the vehicle, the operator stated, “What the (explicit) do you want”? Officers attempted to explain the situation but had difficultly communicating with her due to her music being at a loud level. The operator ignored the officers and turned her music up even louder. The operator proceeded forward approximately forty-feet while officers were attempting to speak with her. She was forced to come to a stop due to the traffic. Officers again approached the vehicle and requested her license and registration. The operator refused to produce her documentation or give any information. She further stated that she did not have a license. She was then asked to step from the vehicle to which she refused. Officers were forced to open the car door and attempted to remove her from the vehicle. The suspect resisted and kicked the officers. She then placed the vehicle into gear and quickly accelerated. The officers were dragged and knocked to the ground. She traveled through the work zone knocking down numerous cones. She operated in an erratic manner down Dorchester Avenue at a high rate of speed.
Officers were able to obtain her vehicle’s registration before loosing sight of her and learned of her listed residence. Numerous C-11 (Dorchester) officers then traveled to 14 Sayward Street, apt #1, Dorchester in order to locate the suspect. Upon their arrival, the suspect vehicle was parked in front of the house. The suspect was located within and positively identified. The officers were transported to Boston area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers arrested Queen Ginel Shaw, 29, of Dorchester on the charges of Assault & Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon on a Police Officer (3 counts), Refusing to Submit to a Police Officer, Harsh and Objectionable Noise and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury.
Officers Observe Man Stabbed Over Drug Deal
On Tuesday, May 2, 2009, at approximately 12:48am, Officers assigned to Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) were patrolling in the area of Egleston Square when they heard screaming. Officers then observed a black male assaulting another male on Washington Street. Officers immediately intervened and learned the altercation was over the purchase of cocaine. The victim informed officers that he was just stabbed and a laceration was located on his lower left arm.
Officers arrested Deverly Brown, 45, of Boston on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
