DAILY INCIDENTS FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2009

B&E Suspect Caught Red Handed with BloodEarly this morning around 1:46AM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to 3 Winter Place/Lockoeber Restaurant for a breaking and entering in progress.
On arrival, officers spoke to the caller who reported that he was sleeping upstairs in the restaurant when he heard loud banging downstairs. The witness stated that he then looked downstairs and observed a suspect a male going through the restaurant’s window.
The witness then provided officers with a description of the suspect and told them that the suspect was seen walking away from the restaurant with two bottles of liquor that he had stolen from the restaurant.
Based on the witness’ description of the suspect, officers searched the area and located the suspect attempting to hide behind a large flower pot. After the suspect was removed from behind the flower pot, officers found the two bottles of liquor under his shirt. Officers returned to the store and found a large rock that is believed to have been used by the suspect to smash the window and a bloody napkin. The suspect also had several cuts on his hand consistent with the bloody napkin found on scene.
The suspect, Eric French, 45, of Boston was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, and Larceny.
Vigilant Officers Take Another Gun Taken Off the Streets
Around 10:08AM this morning, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) were on routine patrol of the Neponset area of the Dorchester when they observed an individual crouched behind a parked car.
Officers exited their department motor vehicles to further investigate what this individual was doing and observed the suspect bent down with his right hand extended reaching under the right rear passenger tire. Officers then stopped the suspect for a threshold inquiry and to further investigate his activities.
During further investigation, officers located a loaded silver colored firearm under the car in the same area that the suspect had been seen reaching. The suspect, Benjamin Brown, 17 of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way.
Car Thief Caught En Route to Report Car Stolen
Early this afternoon around 12:05PM, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested suspect, Robert A. Gilmer, 18, of Roxbury and charged him with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
Shortly before the suspect’s arrest, officers responded to 87 School St. in Jamaica Plain for a larceny in progress. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that she had just observed the suspect driving her stolen car. The victim told officers that she had parked her car around 7:00AM and returned around 11:00AM to find that her car was stolen. The victim further reported to officers that she was in the process of going to report her car stolen when she observed the suspect driving her car in the Egleston Square area.
The victim and her boyfriend followed the suspect until he pulled over at 80 School Street. There, the victim’s boyfriend confronted the suspect and tried to detain him until police arrived but the suspect was able to escape and run into the Greater Egleston High School. Officers responded to the school and there were directed to the school office where the suspect was being detained. After the suspect was arrested, officers went back to the car and noted damage to the car’s ignition and found a bag with paperwork in the suspect’s name inside.
