Man Arrested For Breaking Into a CarOn Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at approximately 11:38am, Officers assigned to Area D-4 (South End / Lower Roxbury), responded to the area of Worcester Square for a report of a man breaking into a motor vehicle.
Officers arrived in the general area and observed a male fitting the description given by dispatch. The suspect was briefly detained while a threshold inquiry was conducted. Officers also located a witness, who stated the suspect was observed checking the door handles on numerous cars as he walked down the street. The witness went on to state that the suspect was able to gain entry into one of the vehicles and pointed it out to offices. The officers were then able to locate the owner of the vehicle and had him inspect his vehicle. The owner reported a large amount of change missing from the ashtray. The witness positively identified the suspect as the person observed entering the vehicle.
A search of the suspect produced a large amount of change in his pants pocket.
Officers arrested Joseph Amoroso, 26, of Lynn on the charges of Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicle (nite) and Larceny From a Motor Vehicle.
Officers Seize Crack Cocaine & Stun gun
On Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at approximately 5:56pm, Officers assigned to Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain), were working in a plain clothes capacity in the Egleston Square area when they observed three individuals engage in what they believed to be suspicious behavior. Two of the individuals began walking away when they observed the officers. The officers exited their cruiser and followed the suspects and called to them to stop. The two refused and continued walking. One of the suspects was observed holding his waistband while attempting to get away from the officers. Through the training and experience of the officers, they found this behavior consistent with that of an individual who is in possession of an illegal weapon.
Officers caught up to the suspect and conducted a pat-frisk for their safety. They discovered the suspect to be carrying a stun gun as well as several plastic bags of crack cocaine.
Officers arrested Clifton Austin, 23, of Boston on the charges of Possession of a Class B Substance (cocaine) With Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance (cocaine) With Intent To Distribute Within 1000 feet of a School Zone (Ellis Mendell Elementary) and Unlawful Carrying of a Dangerous Weapon (stun gun).
