Observant Officers Hear Woman Yelling For HelpOn Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at approximately 2:06am, Officers assigned to Area D-4 (South End / Lower Roxbury), were patrolling in the area of Tremont Street / Cunard Street when they heard glass breaking and a woman screaming. Officers then proceeded down the rear alley of 1045 Tremont Street in order to locate the specific location of the disturbance. Once again, Officers heard screaming and more glass breaking. Officers were then able to locate a distraught female.
The female victim informed officers that she was arguing with her ex-boyfriend and it escalated and he became physically abusive towards her. She went on to state that the suspect took her car keys and fled the area in her vehicle. The victim complained of pain as a result of the altercation and was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment.
A broadcast of the suspect was given and he was taken into custody by B-2 (Roxbury) officers shortly thereafter. The suspect was then transported to D-4 for booking.
Officers arrested Raphael Phanor, 49, of Boston on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (door) and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Man Arrested After Breaking Into a Car In South Boston
On Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at approximately 1:21am, Officers assigned to Area C-6 (South Boston), responded to the area of Emerson Street / East Broadway Street for a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in progress. While en-route, dispatch supplied officers with a detailed description of the suspect.
Officers arrived in the area and observed a white male subject standing on East Broadway Street. Officers also observed a parked vehicle with a smashed out window within close proximity of the subject. Upon further inspection of the vehicle, it was discovered that its glove box was open and the contents were scattered about the interior of the vehicle.
While speaking with the male subject, an item was observed protruding out of his shirt sleeve. Based on this observation, a pat-frisk was conducted. As a result, a long screwdriver was located concealed within the suspect’s sleeve. Three GPS navigation devices were also located within his pants pocket.
Officers arrested Mark Mccormack, 40, of Boston on the charges of Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicle (nite), Possession of Bulgarious Tools and Receiving Stolen Property.
