On Monday, May 4, 2009, at approximately 7:19pm, Officers assigned to Area C-11 (Dorchester), responded to the area of 70 Tonawanda Street for reports of a person shot.Officers arrived on-scene and located a Seventeen-Year-old (17), black male, lying on the sidewalk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Boston EMS transported the victim to Boston Medical Center where he later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced.
Several witnesses informed officers that numerous gunshots were heard before seeing two potential suspects run towards the area of Waldeck Street.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances of this incident.
