Postal Worker Arrested After Crashing Mail TruckOn Thursday, April 23, 2009, at approximately 4:09pm, Officers assigned to Area D-4 (South End/Back Bay), responded to the area of Albany Street for a report of a postal truck being involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Officers arrived on-scene and located a male, who identified himself, as the operator of the crashed postal truck. He informed officers that he was traveling on Herald Street when he was cut-off by another vehicle. He further stated he was forced to turn his vehicle into the guardrail in order to prevent striking the other vehicles. The postal truck sustained extensive front-end damage as a result of the impact.
The operator was unable to produce a valid drivers’ license to officers. A computer check through the Massachusetts Department Of Motor Vehicles showed his license status had been suspended as well as an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Officers arrested Roy Triolo, 36, of Revere on the charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License and the outstanding arrest warrant.
