Officer Assaulted While Attempting To Tow Suspect’s VehicleOn Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at approximately 6:00pm, Officers assigned to Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain), were attempting to tow a motor vehicle on Centre Street for various motor vehicle violations. While awaiting the arrival of the tow truck, the owner of the vehicle approached and attempted to get in. The officer instructed her that she had to step away from the vehicle. The suspect became verbally abusive towards the officer and ignored his orders to leave. The suspect continued to attempt to gain entry into the vehicle. The officer was pushed and struck by the suspect as he attempted to remove her from the vehicle. The suspect was informed that she was under arrest but she continued to resist his orders and refused to place her hands behind her back. Additional officers were called in order to place the suspect in custody. The suspect attempted to scratch the officers during the struggle. After being placed into custody, an amount of marijuana was located on her.
Officers arrested Abrigale Makkeeta Alford, 31, of Boston on the charges Assault & Battery On a Police Officer, Disturbing the Peace and issued a civil violation for the illegal Possession of Marijuana.
