DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2009

Two Suspects Arrested After StabbingOn Saturday, April 18, 2009, at approximately 2:50am, Officers assigned to Area D-14 (Allston/Brighton), responded to 33 Egremont Road for a report of a person with a knife. While en-route, Officers received updated information that one party had been stabbed and another was struck over the head with a bottle.
Upon arrival, Officers located two male subjects with head injuries. One was suffering from a stab wound to the head and the other had sustained an injury from a glass bottle. Officers learned that 33 Egremont Road was hosting a house party until a fight erupted when the homeowners told everyone to leave. Witnesses informed officers that the suspects instigated the incident and were still on the property. The suspects were pointed out and positively identified by the victims and witnesses.
Boston EMS transported both victims to Brigham & Women’s Hospital for treatment for their non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested Josue Rodriguez, 24, of Lowell on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (bottle) and Kevin Ferreira, 20, of Lowell on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife), Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife), Threats to Commit Murder and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer.
Officers Arrest Fleeing Male After Group Beat Man on Ground
On Friday, April 16, 2009, at approximately 2:25am, Officers assigned to Area A-1 (Downtown), were patrolling in the area of Boylston Place when they observed a large group beating a man on the ground. Officers approached and the group fled. Officers requested additional officers and rendered care to the male victim on the ground as well as pursuing the fleeing suspects.
Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend one of the fleeing suspects. After a brief struggle, Officers were able to place the subject into custody. A witness was located and was able to positively identify the suspect as one of the people punching and kicking the man on the ground. At this time, the events leading to the beating are under investigation.
Officers arrested Julio Labrana, 20, of Boston on the charges of Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (shod foot).
Officers Apprehend B&E Suspect In Victim’s Kitchen
On Saturday, April 18, 2009, at approximately 1:31am, Officers assigned to Area C-11 (Dorchester), responded to 10 Crescent Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
Upon arrival, Officers observed two windows with bent screens and one window that was completely open. They also noted a backpack on the front steps. Officers made their way into the apartment and located the caller / resident. She informed offices that a male had just broken into her home through a window and was in the kitchen. Officers entered the kitchen and located a black male. The suspect was placed into custody. The suspect informed officers that he had too much to drink and was kicked out of his house by his girlfriend.
Officers arrested Raphael Brown, 34, of Boston on the charges of Unarmed Breaking & Entering (night).
