Homicide Victim IdentifiedOn Sunday, April 12, 2009, at approximately 2:33am, Officers assigned to Area B-3 (Mattapan), responded to the area of 151 Homestead Street for a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, Officers located an 18 year-old Hispanic male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced.
The victim has been identified as Mario Oviedo, 18, of Mattapan.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances of this incident.
