Officers Apprehend Three Suspects in Stolen Vehicle and Recover a FirearmOn Sunday, March 22, 2009, at approximately 6:01pm, Officers assigned to Area C-11 (Dorchester), were patrolling in the area of Rosseter Street when they observed a vehicle that was reported stolen.
Officers followed the suspect vehicle as it traveled in the area of Bowdoin /Geneva awaiting the arrival of additional C-11 units prior to attempting to stop the vehicle. The operator of the stolen vehicle appeared to be aware of the police presence and sped up in order to avoid capture. While doing so, the suspect vehicle struck two vehicles on Larchmont Street, as well as crossing the yellow line and striking an oncoming police cruiser. At this point, all three occupants of the stolen vehicle exited and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and set up a perimeter of the general area. After a brief search, all three suspects were apprehended. A loaded .45 Caliber firearm was located within the suspects vehicle.
Officers arrested Dominic Toledo, 18, of Boston on the charges of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (car), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition & Various Motor Vehicle Violations. Michael Miranda, 20, of Boston & Armando Barros, 20, of Boston on the charges of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Trespassing, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Search Warrant Yields Money & Two Pounds of Marijuana on Neponset Ave
Over recent time, numerous complaints were received regarding illegal drug distribution taking place in the general area of 135 Neponset Avenue. As a result of these complaints, the BPD launched an investigation into the matter. A search warrant was issued after the facts of the investigation were presented to Dorchester District Court.
On Friday, March 23, 2009, at approximately 6:10pm, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Task Force and C-11 (Dorchester) detectives, proceeded to 135 Neponset Avenue in order to execute the above-mentioned search warrant.
Officers made entry into the apartment and located the target of the investigation within. Officers then conducted a search of the property and located numerous plastic bags of Marijuana throughout the suspects’ residence. The total weight of the Marijuana was in excess of Two-Pounds. Officers also located a digital scale and numerous empty plastic bags. The suspect was also found to be in possession of Nine-Hundred-Fifty-Nine-Dollars ($959), which was seized for it is believed to be proceeds from prior illegal drug sales.
Officers arrested George Davis, 31, of Boston on the charges of Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana), With Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) With Intent to Distribute Within 1000 feet of a School Zone (Richard Murphy Middle School).
