New Upham’s Corner Safe Street Team Meets Local YouthOn March 18, 2009 Mayor Menino and Commissioner Davis joined the new Upham’s Corner Safe Street Team and our mascot McGruff at the Bird Street Community Center to launch the city’s newest walking beat team. The Safe Street officers enjoyed the opportunity to introduce themselves to local youth at the Center. The Boston Police Department would like to extend our thanks to Andrea Kaiser, Executive Director of Bird Street Community Center; Judith Beckler, President of the St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Center and all of the children for their warm welcome!
