DAILY INCIDENTS FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2009

Suspect Arrested After Stealing Car, Attempted B&E & ChaseOn Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at approximately 7:53am, Officers assigned to Area C-6 (South Boston), responded to the area of 24 Dixfield Street for a Breaking & Entering in progress. While en-route, Officers received information that a white male, in his twenties, wearing a dark sweater and light colored baseball cap was attempting to gain entry into the rear glass door of 24 Dixfield Street.
Officers arrived on-scene and spoke with witnesses who informed them that the suspect fled the area in a Blue Toyota Highlander heading in the direction of G Street.
Officers spotted the suspect vehicle in the area of G Street at East 7th Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspect refused to pull over and fled towards Columbia Road. Due to the suspect’s unreasonable speed, the officers backed off and attempted to monitor his route of travel. While attempting to elude officers, the suspect struck three vehicles before exiting the Toyota Highlander he was operating and fleeing on foot. Officers gave chase on foot and were able to apprehend him on Pilsudski Way. The owner of the Blue Toyota Highlander approached officers wishing to report her vehicle stolen. She stated she was standing next to her vehicle, after starting it, when the suspect jumped in and took off.
Officers arrested Kevin Carter, 21, of Boston on the charges of Attempted Breaking & Entering of a Dwelling, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene Of an Accident. The suspect was additionally issued numerous motor vehicle violations.
Man Arrested For Stealing 12K from Employer
On Wednesday, March 18, 2009, officers assigned to Area C-6 (South Boston), responded to 150 Mt. Vernon Street, CMJ Management, for a report of an employee stealing money.
Officers arrived on-scene and spoke with the management’s corporate counsel regarding the theft of Twelve-Thousand-Dollars. Officers learned that the suspect works as the bookkeeper and has been stealing money on a regular basis since November of 2008. Officers confronted the suspect and he admitted to the accusations and stated he attempted to pay the money back but was unable. The suspect stated he knew his actions would ultimately be detected for the company was auditing the books.
Officers arrested Kavan Pittman, 55, of Saugus on the charges of Larceny by Embezzlement.
