Angry Roommate Arrested with FirearmThis morning around 1:35AM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) arrested suspect, Mark. P. Fox, 28, of Boston and charged him with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Officers were initially called to 52 Joy St. in Boston for a breaking and entering in progress. While en route, officers were updated that there was someone armed with a rifle at the scene.
On arrival, officers met with a victim who told them that her roommate had threatened her with a shotgun. Officers then learned that the suspect and victim who are roommates had argued earlier about a stove being left on. The suspect apparently became very angry over the incident and when the victim came home she was threatened by the suspect with a firearm as she attempted to enter her apartment.
Officers were able to able to successfully enter the apartment, and place the suspect under arrest for the assault. After entering the apartment, officers located a double barrel shotgun, and numerous rounds of ammunition.
Cab Fare Causes Rage
About 3:47AM today, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to 250 Moss Hill Rd. for an assault and battery in progress.
At the scene, officers spoke to the victim, a cab driver. The victim reported to officers that he picked up the suspect and his girlfriend at a downtown bar, and drove them to 250 Moss Hill Road. The victim however told officers that when he told the suspect cost of the fare, he started arguing with him and then rammed the victim in the nose with his head. According to the victim, after the suspect head butted him, he then walked over to a car parked in the lot and grabbed an 8×3 stud and attempted to hit him with it. The victim reported that the suspect did not him because the suspect’s girlfriend interceded and stopped him. The victim reported that the suspect did end up paying but only after assaulting him and then fleeing into the home at that address.
Officers then found the suspect and interviewed him. The suspect denied assaulting the victim but did tell officers that he disagreed with the fare. Based on observations of the victim’s injuries consistent with being head butted and an 8×3 stud found nearby, officers made the determination that the victim’s had been assaulted as alleged and arrested the suspect, Gervase F. Toner, 30, of West Roxbury charging him with Assault and Battery and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
B&E Suspect Detained by Victim and Witness
This morning around 5:16AM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 719 Gallivan Blvd. in Dorchester/Dunkin’ Donuts for a crime in progress.
On arrival, officers observed the suspect on the ground with the victim and a witness standing over him. As officers approached the group, the suspect started yelling that he thought the car was abandoned and that’s why he took the items from the car.
Officers then spoke with the victim who told officers that that she was working behind the counter when she overheard the suspect ask the witness what a “Tom Tom” was and observed him the witness a GPS she recognized. The victim, having overheard the above conversation, questioned the suspect about where he got the GPS and he exclaimed that he had gotten it from an abandoned car in the parking lot. The victim and witness followed the suspect outside and before he could flee the scene, the victim and a witness detained him.
The suspect, Everett Goss, 41, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. After being placed under arrest, officers located a stolen cell phone from the victim’s car on the suspect in addition to the GPS, which resulted in additional charges of Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.
