DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2009

Officers Locate Illegal After-Hours BarOn Saturday, March 7, 2009, at approximately 2:14am, Officers assigned to Area B-3 (Mattapan), responded to 114 West Selden Street for a report of a loud party.
Upon officers’ arrival, a large group was located coming and going from the basement of 114 West Selden Street. The group was observed smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and being disruptive.
Officers made their way into the basement of 114 West Selden Street and observed a male bartender serving alcoholic beverages with United States Currency being exchanged in return. An elaborate DJ system was also observed playing music at a high level.
Upon further investigation, officers learned of two individuals that were deemed responsible for organizing the illegal after-hours party. Officers seized several bottles of alcohol, various electronic DJ devices and in excess of Five-Hundred-Dollars that is believed to be proceeds from the illegal sale of alcohol.
Officers arrested Maurice Johnson-Morton, 22, of Boston and Maxwell Thomas, 38, of Boston on the charges of Hosting an Unpermitted After-Hours Party and The Illegal Sale of Alcohol.
CORRECTION: Maurice Johnson-Morton was not arrested for this incident. He was issued a a city ordinance violation for host of an unpermitted after-hour party. BPD Media Relations apologizes for the error.
Suspect Arrested For Possession of a Firearm & Crack Cocaine
Within recent time, Area B-2 (Roxbury) detectives received information regarding a male selling cocaine and in possession of a firearm.
On Saturday, March 7, 2009, at approximately 4:15pm, Officers set up surveillance in the general area of Columbia Road at Devon Street in order to observe the above-mentioned subject. A male suspect, know to officers, was observed in this general area, engaging in what appeared to be, street level narcotic activities.
Officers decided to approach the suspect in order to investigate further. Upon noticing the oncoming police presence, the suspect became nervous and attempted to reverse his direction to avoid officers. The suspect was briefly detained and asked if he had anything on him? He responded, “I have a gun”. Officers then retrieved a loaded .38 caliber revolver from his waistband.
Officers arrested Sonny Ray Deloatch, 26, of Boston on the charges of Illegal Possession of a Firearm & Illegal Possession of Ammunition. During the booking process, seven plastic bags of crack cocaine were located on Mr. Deloatch. He was additionally charged with Illegal Possession of a Class B Substance (crack cocaine) With Intent To Distribute.
