WHAT: Boston Police are working cooperatively with multiple City agencies and members of the South Boston community to create a family-friendly environment for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day parade. Today Superintendent Linskey will detail the plans on behalf of the City and the Boston Police Department to increase patrols and ensure the safety of our community during the festivities. This is a reminder that revelers are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and to adhere strictly to all alcohol laws.
Prior to the availability, Boston Police is hosting a meeting which includes members of the South Boston community to discuss collaborative plans to create a family-friendly event. **Media is invited into this meeting at 11:45pm as a photo opportunity. ** Following the meeting Superintendent Linskey will be available to discuss plans.
