DAILY INCIDENTS FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 2009

POLICE ARREST FOUR FOR ARMED ROBBERY IN CHARLESTOWNOn Thursday, January 22, 2009, at approximately 11:03am, officers from Area A-15 (Charlestown) responded to 240 Medford Street (Charlestown High School) for a report of an attempted armed robbery by means of a firearm.
Officers arrived on-scene and spoke with two adult male victims. The victims informed officers that they were assaulted and forced to the floor of the bathroom by four males who demanded money. They went on to state that one of the suspects lifted his shirt and displayed a firearm that was in his waistband. The victims were instructed to, “stay on the floor.” The victims then began to yell causing the suspects to flee the bathroom.
BPD Officers, School Police Officers and the Assistant Headmaster were able to locate and identify the four perpetrators. The victims also positively identified the four suspects.
Officers arrested Deshwan Dawson, 18, of Boston, Adonzindo Dasilva, 17, of Boston, and two 16 year-old juveniles from Boston and charged all four with the Intent to Commit Robbery While Armed, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (wall) and Possession of a Firearm on School Property.
OFFICER CHASES DOWN ARMED ROBBER
On Thursday, January 23, 2009, at approximately 10:09pm, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were flagged down in the area of Warren Street by an individual who stated three black males robbed him. The victim informed officers that he was walking to the Dudley MBTA Station when three black males approached him. One of the males pulled out a pocketknife and stated, “Don’t move.” The suspect then removed the victim’s cellular phone from his waistband. The suspects then fled on foot towards Dudley Street. Officers soon located and apprehended a subject fitting the description given by the victim. The suspect was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The victim positively identified the suspect.
Officers arrested Matthew Sullivan, 17, of Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery.
B & E SUSPECT CAUGHT IN THE ACT
On Thursday, January 22, 2009, at approximately 12:15pm, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to the rear of 459 Cambridge Street for a report of a Breaking & Entering in progress.
Upon arrival, officers observed a black male standing in the rear of 459 Cambridge Street with two bags. When officers approached the suspect, the suspect fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter of the general area and observed the suspect running in the area of Hano Street. Officers were able to place the suspect into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Officers located and secured the bags left behind by the suspect. A search of the bags enabled officers to locate and seize numerous items such as: jewelry, clothing, electronics and money.
Officers arrested Deaudre Bery, 47, of Boston on the charges of Attempted Breaking & Entering Daytime, Receiving Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest.
