Around 2:59AM today, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) were on patrol on Bennington Street when they were flagged down by a witness who told them that someone had just been robbed and that the victim was chasing the suspect.
Officers directed their attention in the direction pointed out by the witness and observed a female chasing someone. Officers followed the female and caught up to her and the suspect on Saratoga Street. There, officers stopped both individuals and the victim reported to officers that the suspect had broken into her car. The victim further explained to officers that she went to get in her car and found the suspect in her car. The victim then observed that the faceplate to her radio was missing, and the radio had been partially removed by the suspect.
The suspect fled upon seeing the victim and she gave chase until officers corralled the suspect while the victim was pursuing him. The suspect, Miguel A. Arraiga, 28, of East Boston was consequently arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle in the Nighttime.
Bakery Break In Goes Awry
This morning around 3:06AM, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to 33 Poplar St. in Roslindale for a breaking and entering in progress.
On arrival, officers observed two males on the floor of the hallway struggling. Officers separated the two individuals and spoke to them individually. The first male identified himself as the owner of the bakery located on the first floor and stated that he caught the suspect trying to break into an apartment on the second floor. The victim reported that he was working on the first floor when he heard a loud sound from the front door and heard someone going up the stairway. The victim reported that he then went to check the front door knowing that the second floor occupant was not at home. The victim went outside and observed that the front door lock had been damaged. The victim then went upstairs and observed the suspect breaking into the apartment by inserting a credit card in the doorjamb.
Officers then spoke with the suspect who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. The suspect stated to officers that he had come there to visit a friend. Attempts to contact the tenant of the apartment were unsuccessful and as a result the suspect, Charlie T. Glasson, 32, of Roslindale was arrested and charged with Breaking and entering, and Willful Malicious Destruction of Property.
Two Barricaded Suspects Placed Under Arrest for Armed Robbery
About 03:35 hours, on Monday, January 19, 2009, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 20 Wellington Hill Street for a report of a man with a gun.
Officers arrived on-scene and located the caller / victim, who informed them that he was delivering Chinese food to the Wellington Hill Street area when he was robbed at gun point by two black men. The victim went on to state that he was ordered to the ground and had Two-Hundred-Dollars cash stolen from him as well as the Chinese food he was going to deliver. The victim stated the two men fled to the rear of #20 Wellington Hill Street.
Officers were able to locate footprints in the snow leading to the rear of #20 Wellington Hill Street. Officers then located fresh snow on the staircase ascending to the third floor landing. Additional officers were called to the scene and the building was secured awaiting SWAT officers to arrive.
At approximately 06:30am, SWAT officers entered the third floor apartment of #20 Wellington Hill Street and located two male suspects.
The victim was able to positively identify both suspects and they were placed into custody on the charges of Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
One of the suspects was identified as: Keon Fuller-Simmons, 20 of Boston and the other was a Sixteen-year old Juvenile from Boston.
