DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SUNDAY, JANUARY 18, 2009

Be Careful What You Tell the Police!Last night around 6:05PM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to 39 Dalton St. in Boston/The Sheraton Hotel for a robbery in progress.
On arrival, officers spoke to the caller who told officers that he she was just robbed at gunpoint. The caller reported that two men knocked on her hotel room door, pushed their way into her room, and robbed at her gunpoint. The victim further elaborated by telling officers that two suspects came in her room, one of whom held her down while the other one searched the room and took her wallet and laptop computer.
Officers broadcast a description of the suspects and canvassed the area to no avail. Detectives then responded to the room, and interviewed the caller regarding the robbery. The caller told officers that she had traveled to Boston from San Francisco and before doing so had placed an advertisement on Craiglist. The caller went on to tell officers that the advertisement had been for sex in exchange for cash for men she had previously met on the internet. The caller went on to tell officers that her sole purpose for getting the room was to have sex with her clients, and that she indeed had already had a client earlier in the day. Officers then seized evidence of the caller’s trade, namely condoms, and a pair of men’s underwear from her earlier client.
The caller, Donna Rao, 20, of San Francisco was arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
Coincidence Leads to Arrest of Armed Robbery Suspect
Around 7:58PM last night, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to the intersection of Lenox St. and Shawmut Ave. for an armed robbery in progress.
On arrival, officers met the victim who reported to them that two black males had just robbed him of his money at gunpoint. The victim told offices that he was approached by two described black males when one of the suspects referred to as “Smooth” was told to do it now. At that point, the victim reported to officers the suspect ‘Smooth” pulled out a handgun, and he was robbed of his money. The victim told officers that he chased the suspects to 9 Trotter Court after he was robbed but they fled into an unknown apartment in the building. The victim then told officers that the suspect “Smooth” is known to him, and he provided officers with a cell phone number for suspect, “Smooth.”
Officers responded to 9 Trotter Court where they searched for the suspects to no avail.
Later in the night around 9:26PM, officers responded to the rear of 889 Harrison Ave. for a ShotSpotter notification of shots fired. Shortly after arriving, officers observed two individuals walking on East Lennox St. toward Harrison Avenue. Both individuals were stopped to conduct a threshold inquiry, and during the course of the inquiry, officers realized that one of the two males stopped matched the description of one of the armed robbery suspects from earlier in the night. Officers then notified detectives who were still conducting an interview of the victim from the earlier armed robbery. The victim was transported to the location of the victim where he positively identified the suspect by exclaiming, “That’s him, he was the guy that had the gun when I was robbed!”
The suspect, Mac S. Little, 49, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
