Resulting in the Recovery of Numerous GunsOn January 15, 2008 at around 2:40AM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to 10 Brinton St. in Roxbury for domestic violence in progress.
On arrival, officers located the victim/caller outside the house who reported to officers that her boyfriend had assaulted her and that her boyfriend was armed with a gun. The victim then went on to indicate that her boyfriend might be armed with an automatic weapon. Victim further explained to officers that she came home from work and went in the suspect’s bedroom where she encountered the suspect and a friend. The victim further told officers that she started telling the suspect about someone she had seen at work when he assaulted her several times and took about $100.00 of money from the victim that she had earned while working. The victim further reported that when she attempted to call 911, the suspect threatened her by lifting his shirt and displaying two guns to her and telling her that he would kill her if she called the police. The victim was able to call the police when she left the room that the suspect was in and went to the bathroom.
Officers then went inside the apartment where they placed the victim’s boyfriend under arrest and conducted a protective sweep of the apartment. During a protective sweep of the apartment, officers found two individuals in the apartment, and observed a gun in an open cupboard. One of those two individuals refused to comply with officers’ orders and assaulted officers resulting in his arrest.
Based on the information given to officers by the victim, and the gun observed by officers during the protective sweep of the apartment, officers “froze” the house pending a warrant to search the house for further evidence. Suspect, Michael Majors, 19, of Roxbury, the victim’s boyfriend was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery (209A), Larceny from a Person, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Intimidation of a Witness, and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The other person arrested in the house, Dashawn T. Cole, 18, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
Pursuant to the above incident, officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the above location. During the execution of the search warrant, officers recovered the following items:
1. Automatic Uzi Style Machine Pistol with a magazine containing 21 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
2. 38 caliber semi-automatic handgun with a magazine containing 6 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
3. 380 semi-automatic handgun with a magazine containing 8 380 caliber ammunition
4. 357 handgun revolver with no rounds
5. Multiple rounds of ammunition
6. Bullet resistant vest
7. money reported by the victim to have been stolen from her by the suspect
8. undisclosed amount in multiple denominations seized as proceeds from drug sale
9. A digital camera
10. A small digital scale (generally used to weigh drugs)
11. A kitchen plate with white powdery substance
12. Numerous packages of Baggies, and a couple boxes of Baggies generally used to package drugs
Suspect, Majors will be charged with additional offenses as a result of the items recovered and seized during the execution of the search warrant.
