PROBLEMS AT THE PUMP LAND ONE VANDAL IN POLICE CUSTODY At about 3:58am, on Thursday, January 8, 2009, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for vandalism in progress at the Exxon Gas Station at 841 Morton Street. On arrival, officers observed the front window of the gas station to be broken. According to witnesses, two black females approached the window and asked the station attendant to let them in to the booth. When the attendant refused them entry, one of the suspects picked up a bottle and smashed the window. According to witnesses, the suspect then proceeded to pull all of the gas nozzles out of the gas pumps. The suspect also damaged a couple of the pumps with the bottle.
Officers arrested Takisa Mathews, 24, of Boston and charged her with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
POLICE ARREST ONE FOR BREAKING INTO CARS IN JAMAICA PLAIN
At about 3:01am, on Thursday, January 8, 2009, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to the area of Parkton Road and Perkins Street for a report of a person breaking into a motor vehicle. On arrival, officers located the caller who stated that he observed an unknown Hispanic male open the door of a parked vehicle and begin “rummaging through it”. The caller gave a description of the suspect and officers immediately searched the area for him. Officers then observed an individual fitting the description in the area of Atherton Street. The suspect was detained in order for a possible identification. The witness was then transported to the area and positively identified the suspect.
Officers arrested David Sanchez, 30, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.
