STOLEN CHECKBOOK LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODY IN SOUTHIEAt about 5:29pm, on Monday, December 8, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to the Best Buy located at 14 Allstate Road for the report a male customer attempting to pass a bad check. On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that a customer attempted to buy an undisclosed amount of merchandise with a personal check. According to the store employee, she became suspicious of the suspect after asking him for identification. When the employee looked at the ID, she noted that the suspect appeared dramatically older than age listed on the ID. The store employee further stated that the suspect looked some 20 years older than the person pictured in the license. The store employee says the suspect simply didn’t look like the person in the picture. When officers questioned the suspect, they asked him to provide his Social Security number. After checking the number, officers learned that the suspect was not the individual he was claiming to be.
After seizing the stolen checkbook and ID, officers arrested Lamar Hackett, 42, of Boston and charged him with Uttering a False Check and Larceny Over $250.00.
WHEN IT COMES TO SOLICITING DONATIONS .. THIS APPROACH HAS A LOT TO BE DESIRED
At about 6:25pm, on Monday, December 8, 2008, officers were on patrol in the area of Copley Square when they were approached by a citizen who stated that an individual was threatening people. According to one witness, the suspect approached him and said, “Give me a dollar or I’ll punch you in the face.“ Officers soon located an individual matching the description of the suspect. While approaching the suspect, officers observed the suspect flailing his arms and yelling at people. When officers attempted to calm the suspect, the suspect threatened the officers, stating, “Come on (expletive)!!! I’ll mess you up!!!”
Officers arrested Adan Ibrahim, 21, of Boston and charged him with Being a Disorderly Person.
