DETECTIVES CANVASS AREA SEEKING ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONOn December 3, 2008, officers responded to 710 Hyde Park Avenue for a person shot at approximately 12:57am. Upon arrival, officers entered above address and observed a black male lying on his side bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was soon pronounced.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim, a black male and 50 years old, encountered the suspect, who approached the victim’s front door. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male could possibly be black Hispanic or Cape Verdean, 15 to 18 years old and wearing a blue jacket with white on the sleeves.
At this time, detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for investigative leads. The Crimestoppers Unit has been deployed to the area to proactively engage community members by distributing anonymous Text-A-Tip pamphlets and keeping residents informed of ongoing efforts.
