DORCHESTER SHOOTING VICTIM SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

On Monday, December 1, 2008 around 9:14am, Boston Police from District C-11 and B-3, responded to a radio call for a person shot at 554 Washington Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was rushed to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The victim since that time remained at the Boston Medical Center in critical condition. However this evening, the victim, 17-year-old, Deandre Barbosa of Dorchester was pronounced as a result of the injuries suffered.Homicide detectives continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of this incident. That same day, officers placed 20-year-old Patrick M. Grier and a 16-year-old female both of Dorchester under arrest and charged them both with Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit in conjunction with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office will now seek an upgrade in the pending charges against the suspects to Murder in the morning.
