DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2008

TOO MUCH TO DRINK + TOO MUCH TO SAY = POLICE CUSTODY FOR ONE DOWNTOWN BAR PATRON At about 10:38pm, on Friday, November 21, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person causing a disturbance in the area of 168 Canal Street. On arrival, officers spoke to employees of Sullivan’s Bar who stated a decision was made to stop serving a customer due to the fact that the customer appeared to have had too much to drink. When the customer was asked to leave the establishment, the customer became belligerent and combative. After being escorted from the bar, the customer returned with a solid steel ashtray and threw it into the establishment. No one was hurt when the ashtray was thrown. Officers also spoke to employees from a bar across the street who stated that the suspect in this case stole the ashtray from their premise. While officers were talking the suspect, the suspect stated, “Politicians are getting arrested for taking a thousand dollars! Do you want a thousand dollars? I could give you a thousand dollars!”
Officers arrested Kevin Doherty, 25, of Northborough and charged him with Being Disorderly. After the suspect was booked, the suspect stated, “That was a stupid thing to say. I wish I could take it back.”
FOR ONE SUSPECT IN SOUTHIE – THE GLASS WAS NOT ONLY HALF EMPTY – BUT IT WAS ALSO ALL OVER HIM
At about 1:30pm, on Saturday, November 22, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person breaking into a car in the area of 426 E 1st Street. According to the victim, a white male wearing a dark cap, black jacket and blue jeans broke the window on his car and stole something. Officers soon located an individual matching the description of the suspect. While talking to the suspect, the suspect stated, “You can search me. I don’t have anything.” Officers observed fragments of broken glass on the suspect’s clothing. When asked about the shards of broken glass, the suspect stated, “I did it. It was me.” After recovering the items stolen from the car, officers arrested David Blanchette, 38, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.
POLICE ARREST ONE IN BRIGHTON FOR KICKING A VICTIM IN THE FACE
At about 12:52am, on Saturday, November 22, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a fight in the lobby of 47 Orkney Road. On arrival, officers located an individual lying in the street unconscious suffering from a bloody nose. According to witnesses, a verbal dispute began when a number of underage kids attempted to gain entry into a party. The fight spilled out into the street and that’s when witnesses observed the suspect kick the victim in the face. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. A search of the immediate area enabled officers to locate the suspect.
Officers arrested Tim Flinn, 20 , of Reading and charged him with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (foot).
