GRAFFITI VANDAL ARRESTED IN BRIGHTONAt about 12:46am, on Friday, November 21, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) were on patrol when they observed an individual spray-painting the sidewall of the building located 172 Brighton Ave (Burritos on Fire). Specifically, officers observed a male subject, in a squatting position, spraying what appeared to be paint onto the exterior side wall. Upon seeing the officers approaching, the suspect jumped up from his squatting position and placed the can of spray paint in his right pocket. Officers asked the suspect to remove the can from his pocket. When the subject removed the can, officers observed that the suspect was in possession of a can of blue spray paint. Officers further noted that the freshly applied paint on the wall matched the color of the paint in the can.
Officers arrested Minho Kim, 19, of Boston and charged him with Damage to Property by Graffiti. An inventory of search of the suspect’s backpack enabled officers to locate and recover two more cans of spray paint.
SANDWICH EATING SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR BREAKING STORE FRONT WINDOW
At about 2:04am, on Friday, November 21, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a disturbance in the area of 361 Boylston Street (Parish Café). On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that they were seated in the bar area of the café when they observed two people get up to go outside for a smoke. Witnesses further stated that as soon as the couple exited the location, the suspect in this case reached over and ate half of the individual’s sandwich. When the couple returned to their seat and noticed the half eaten sandwich, they notified employees of the restaurant. At this point, the suspect was asked to pay his bill and leave the location. Approximately twenty-five minutes later, the same suspect attempted to re-enter the establishment. Since restaurant employees recognized him, access was denied. Upon being told that he would not be allowed to re-enter the establishment, the suspect kicked and shattered the front door and then fled the area. A search of the area enabled officers to locate the suspect. The suspect was brought back to the location where witnesses positively identified him.
Officers arrested Manas Adhikari, 29, of Cambridge and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property (over $250.00). Throughout the booking process, the suspect kept saying that he was never at the Parish Café, however, officers located a receipt in his pocket from the Parish Café, dated 11/21/08, that proved otherwise.
