Armed Robbery Doesn’t Pay!Last night around 9:18AM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested suspects Michael D. Beswick, 18, of Dorchester and a 15-year-old male juvenile from Dorchester and charged them with Armed Robbery.
Officers were called to 20 Franklin St. in Dorchester for an armed robbery, and on arrival spoke to the victim of the armed robbery and his mother. Based on conversation with the victim, officers learned that he was walking on the Tenean Beach path when a group of teens (one of whom was wearing a half mask, and another of whom was carrying a gun) approached him and took his Apple I-Pod.
The victim supplied officers with a description of the suspects and their direction of flight as walking towards the Boston Bowl located on Morrissey Boulevard. The suspects’ description was broadcast as well as their direction, and other assisting units responded to the Boston Bowl and noticed a group of teenagers matching the suspects’ description. As officers approached the group they observed the suspects retrieving the stolen I-Pod from some nearby bushes. The group was stopped and, there officers noted the half mask described as being worn by one of the suspects on the person of one of the suspects.
The victim was brought to the location of the suspects and there positively identified the two above noted suspects who were then arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. The victim’s I-Pod was recovered and returned to him.
Suspect Arrested for Shooting Incident at 1633 Blue Hill Avenue
At approximately 10:11PM last night, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 1633 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan.
On arrival, officers observed the victim sitting inside a store at that location suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the stomach. Officers attempted to speak to the victim but he was unable to respond due to his injuries. EMS responded to the scene and immediately transported the victim to Boston Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Officers, on scene, spoke to witnesses who reported that they observed the victim arguing with an unidentified woman outside the store shortly before the incident. Witnesses further reported that the argument seemed to be escalating at which point he went outside and attempted to separate the arguing parties. One witness further reported to officers that another man who was standing outside at that time pushed him to the side, pulled out a gun, and shot the victim. According to witnesses, the suspect then fled the scene accompanied by the woman who had been arguing with the victim.
Pursuant to the information received by officers and detectives, officers were able to identify the suspect of the shooting. Based on that information, officers notified the suspect who early this morning was placed under arrest at District B-3. The suspect, Arturo V. Wallen, 61, of Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a dangerous Weapon.
Pouring Beer in a Police Cruiser…Not a Good Idea!
This morning around 2:21AM, officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to 17 Greylock Rd. in Brighton for a group of males refusing to leave a house party at the above.
On arrival, officers saw a group of fifty to sixty individuals around the area of the party drinking. Officers requested the individuals stop drinking and disperse which they did. After advising these individuals to leave the area, officers proceeded to the front of he house and there observed an individual open the front door of the marked Boston Police cruiser door, and discard an item inside. As officers approached this individual to ask of him what he was doing to the cruiser, he fled on foot. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and after a brief foot pursuit caught this individual.
Officers returned to the cruiser and there noticed that some alcoholic beverage had been poured throughout the front driver side of the cruiser. The suspect, Richard J. Waldron, 27, of Brighton was then placed under arrest and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Destruction or Injury of Personal Property, and Being a Disorderly Person.
