BREAKING STORE FRONT WINDOWS LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODYAt about 12:49am, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of 131 State Street when a witness flagged them down and told them there were two suspects attempting to break or kick in storefront windows along State Street. According to witnesses, the two suspects (one a male; the other a female) kicked and smashed the window at Leeba’s Salon at 131 State Street. On arrival, officers observed broken glass sprinkled and scattered across the area in front of the store. The window was approximately 10 by 10 feet. Officers quickly located the suspects. While questioning the male suspect, the suspect began to verbally and abuse and mistreat the officers. As back-up officers responded to the scene, the suspect yelled, “What the f*#k!!! Why are you all here???” In response to the question, officers replied, “Because you just broke a huge window.”
Officers arrested Michael Emerson, 24, of Randolph and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Disorderly Conduct. Officers waited on scene until a boarding company arrived to secure the property.
TWO UNARMED ROBBERS ARRESTED IN SOUTHIE
At about 12:54am,on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of W. Broadway and E Street. According to the police dispatcher, the victim was following after the suspects. According to the victim, both suspects were black males wearing black jackets. Officers located and spoke to the victim who stated the suspects approached him from behind and grabbed his wallet. Victim informed officers that he followed the suspects for a little while but lost them in the area of 224 Bowen Street. In short time, officers located two individuals who matched the description of the suspects. Both suspects were brought to Bowen and W. 5th Streets where they were positively identified by the victim.
Officers arrested Jerome Crump, 35, of Boston and Mark Crump, 37, of Boston and charged both with Unarmed Robbery.
POLICE ARREST TWO GRAFITTI VANDALS IN HYDE PARK
At about 2:40pm, on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for kids tagging in the area of the Fairmount Commuter Rail Station in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers observed tow suspects writing on a steel beam. One of he suspects had a red marker in his hand while the other was in possession of a black marker. Officers observed both suspects in the act of writing or sketching various words and designs on the beam. As officers approached both suspects, both suspects quickly hid the markers under their clothing. When officers asked the suspects to explain their actions, one of the suspects stated, \”Someone covered our boys\’ tag so we wanted to fix it\”.
Officers arrested two 15 year-old males and charged them with the Willful & Malicious Destruction (Graffiti). All markers were seized and turned in as evidence.
